March/April 2020
Dear Parents/Guardians and Students, April 6, 2020
As we begin another week of Flexible Instruction Days, I want to update students and parents about our upcoming week. Thanks to those who have forwarded your PE logs to me. I am still missing many logs. I have received about ⅓ of the school population so far. Letś try to get that to 50% by the end of this week. If you have been having trouble copying or entering information on the log, just email me ([email protected]), and I will help you. Just do what is easiest for you.
I have asked the classroom teachers to create a link on their google classroom page to navigate to our PE website. This should make things easier.
Remember, on your child’s PE day (which can be found on the PE website under AthomeInstruction) students should strive to get 30 minutes of physical activity. Also, remember to check the "Daily PE Message". So many of you have been having fun with the ¨Where's Ms. Jacobsen¨ activity. I will continue with new locations this week. The first student to tell me the secret location in Roxbury will be awarded a BIG FOOTSIE when we get back to school. Remember: The early bird catches the worm.
Last week, I explained how 2nd, 3rd & 4th graders will be starting their own Footsie program. For 2nd graders, just start a log of your own. Walk, jog or run on any day and record the length of your trip. For every mile that you record, I will give you a small footsie when we get back to school. You keep the log...no need to forward it to me. Questions??? Just email me.
Also, this week, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades are going to concentrate on basketball skills. Don't worry if you don't have a hoop or a basketball. Our main goal is to stay active! You´ll see suggested activities and articles in the home assignment area. Kindergarten will be working on kicking, whether it's a kickball, soccer ball or a football
Try to get your parents/guardians, siblings, and other family members to exercise with you!. Stay fit and healthy, Jefferson students!
Sincerely,
The Roxbury Elementary Physical Education Teachers
